VolksWorld Show 2010

It was a fun trip, but unfortunately due a memorycard failure I got just these 8 shots. Well my friends have more, as soon they get them published I'll link them here.

Spray painting & nonsense

Yesterday while cleaning the garage for assembling the 912 engine, I started playing with spray cans. First I sprayed the master cylinder of the Notch in silver. And then Tamiya Mini wheels, that I intend to use on my 1:10 Tamiya Beetle as 8-spokes, got a coat of GOOLD (pronounced like in Austin Powers movie).

Safety harness

Today I was seaching for some stuff in my parts stash. While I was there I took a closer look on the safety belts I've had there for over ten years. I was quite surprised as I realised that they are actually old racing harness! I was like WOOHOO! I need to get some oldskool inspired car for these! They appear to be made in Sweden by RKN, althought there is chromed fastener that says Klippan, is says only RKN on the buckle and the badge. Unless ofcourse these two kompanies are related some how. I need to check Google.

Mäkistartti, ice-racing at Tahkovuori

Last saturday we went to Nilsiä for some ice-track driving training. Thank you FVWA Kupoio for great event and all participants for good company! We went there with Mikko's Golf cabrio, and drove top down, ofcourse!

Outsourcing is the word of the day.

Sorry about stupid ass title, which only Finns might 'get'. Anyway, Notch project is moving on as the parts I dropped to powder coater on last sunday are ready! This is fast action in my point of view, as it took 4 months to sandblast and powder coat my 912 steelies in an other joint last winter. I also got one NOS front seat slider from via http://www.volkkaripalsta.com and 912 motor hanger was painted at the same time too.

MB kastenwagen

Yesterday I spotted this rare Benz Kastenwagen, which apparently is transformed into a camper van, on a side street near my house.

More blasting

Today I cleaned some parts of my 912 carbs, and desided to try out the blasting cabinet with new blasting media. I was wondering around the garage to find something to blast, so I stumbled on to Notch master brake cylinder, so it got cleaned. Slow but not steady progress on the Notch project ;o)

Slow progress on Notch project

Some of the suspension parts were shot blasted, but not all the rust came off, so I took them to sand blasting and now thay are ready for powder coating.

Went to see also Jani's projects at the same trip.
