TL engine top end rebuild
My past months spare time has been consumed at the garage over hauling the TL's leaking engine. Dropping was pretty straight forward 50 min job by myself, didn't even forgot to detach anything. Well the air bellow fucked up anyhow at dropping, even it was detached...
I got the heads planed by a CNC-macine at my work for a cup of coffee and a doughnut.
I bought new valves from local auto parts shop for 4,5€/exhaust valve and 6,9€ per inlet. Valve guides I needed to order, 3€ each but I didn't have the time or the patience the change them myself, so I dropped them of to do it professionally with valve seat grinding, which cost 120€. So refurbishment of old heads cost about 200€, about half the price new ones would have cost. But atleast they are german made, and fine tuned in Finland ;o)
Setting the end play. At 0,07mm the engine was almost completely jammed, at 0,09-0,10mm it turned fine.

A little bit of spay paint make up.
Two issues are totally bitchy about Type3 engine, first is the generator belt assy, second is putting the air bellow back between the engine and the body.

SLS AMG 6.3
Today I went to this very special automobile, it's not every day you can see a thing like this at our little town. Or even in whole Finland, there's like six of these imported.
Check out the sounds of that machine!

el Día del Padre
This week they are "celebrating" fathers day here in Finland, but for me it feels like Christmas! This week I received to hard packages. First one was hiding:
Gene Berg shifter, I got fairly cheap.
And a NOS Type3 sun visor for my notchback project! Don't you just love (weird) NOS parts!!! Well, I most certainly do!
NOS tail light chrome, ignition switch and some front drum nut locking plates.
The other package was some random WolfsburgWest stuff for my '60 Ragtop.

Toystory
Last year HotWheels surprised us with SP2, This year it's the VW Brasilia
And I bet you haven't been able to miss this one.
Happy Campers don't you think?
It took them two nights to put the 1332 pieces together.

The Dark Knight Joins With His Older Brother
One DWL Member has a soft spot for black classic Porsches, don't you think? The '71 Targa is accompanied by a '61 356 Cali-import.

SprintStars Powdercoated
Got my other set of 5,5" ET26 Sprints from the powdercoating. I think they look pretty cool like that. Wondering should I leave them like that or paint on the silver highlights like originals.

Nice bug from Nurmes
Jussis awesome '62 was on display at a car meeting in the town of Nurmes. Pea green TMI interior fits like a glove on a beryl green car.
There was also crazy '58 Sisu bus with leather couches inside, sleigh & old Singer sewingmachine as a roof ornament. How beautiful is that '61 ´vette, restored in early nineties. A Willy's Jeep is also a rare sight down here in the deep east.
