Went to see this late sixties model N Variant a month ago. It was pretty solid, (read: welded alot,) but I lost interest as the body was welded completely to chassis.

Working on the TL
Last weekend I finished the polishing of the TL, it did not turn out perfect, but alot better than badly faded paint that it was before.
I set up electric windscreen washer, as original switch was leaking on the floor. I managed to make it all without doing any additional holes. Just tied the motor to the original washer bottle with cable ties, and added pushbutton under the dash to a hole there already was.
I installed steering damper too, which was missing. Talking about loose steering. I got two new dampers for 36,5€ including postage. Not bad, even though they're not german. I had to change tie rods as left side wheel had over one centimeter play!

New Old Shoes
Messing up the perfect patina.
Porsche out, TL 1600 in
Had to get something to fill the empty space, right? It's '67 VW TL1600 with 132 000km on the clock. Last 32 years it has been driven about 40 000 km. One lady owner 1967-2009, making me the 3rd. owner. Actually now my all VW's are bought from the second owners. It has gotten a lot of battle scars over the years, but it's solid and been MOT inspected yearly. I'm planning on making it a driver, I can take out even during harsh finnish winter.
