Summer is near!

On Monday I realised it's 12 days to first of May, which is when the summer cars usually gather here in Joesnuu for the first time. And I had my 912 engine disassembled on the garage floor (&table&shelves...). Now two days later I have a long block, still some work ahead, but maybe I get it monted to the car this weekend. Atleast I hope so. Then I would have a couple of days to cure the teething problems. More pic's here.

Tamiya Beetle's New Shoes

A Common trick is to use Tamiya 1:10 Mini Minilite wheels as they resemble KN Minator 8-spoke wheel. I painted them GOLD and used Mini slicks without tyre insert (original ones did not fit into the slicks), and the grip felt awesome, even with fresh tyres and dirty tarmac after the winter. Slicks has also smaller radius so it's not going so fast anymore, with original tyres it's way too fast for my kids (read: for me) to handle.
