Slow progress on Notch project

Some of the suspension parts were shot blasted, but not all the rust came off, so I took them to sand blasting and now thay are ready for powder coating.

Or should I say Museum? What do you think, doesn't this kind of collection make most of VW enthusiasts green with envy? Split window and ragtop oval (older restorations), loaded '61 beetle, '63 standard beetle, Wihuri Beetle from late '60ties (assembled in Finland), Autostick Beetle, another restored autostick pan, '67 Street racer coming up, '67 Pritschenwagen, '60ties Variant, or should I say Squareback, VW powered MF harvester, VW powered ice-sled and many others. Boy that Kit car was small! I think it might be FiberFab Aztec, isn't it?
My pic's are bad and it was -10 degrees celcius over there, but I will back there in summer time with better camera. This collector also had plenty of cool old pedal cars and other stuff, but I was so confused to find this VW collection so near that I completely missed to take photos of everything.

Meilenverk Berlin

Last month my friend visited Meilenverke in Berlin and sent me these photos. I got to admit I'm jealous. Definitely seems like a place to visit, no doubt.

912 Spare engine disassembly

I bought this 356 engine as a spare, to get my 912 running for last summer, as my own crank and fly wheel were stolen.



I planned to tear it a part and use the crank&flywheel in my matching numbers block. All went well and parts look OK, exept that I managed to crack a piece on from one piston and that in fact the crank wasn't counterweighted as I had supposed. Maybe not all 356 cranks were counterweighed? I have one Porsche industrial engine crank that isn't. Today I noticed also that they sell cranks without CWs for 356's on http://www.ahnendorp.com . Here are both of my cranks.



I also took apart my two pairs of Solex 40 PII-4 carburators for a rebuild.





There has been a fire in one of the carbs. Caused by bad sync I guess, as one diffusor has melted. Does anyone have a spare? Email me please, thank you.

T34 Ghia

Today I went to see a T34 Karmann Ghia. I had seen this car in the spring of 1998, when it was next to my car at a car show here in Joensuu. It has been driven less than 500km since then, but it has been stored well and about 15 years old restoration looked good stil after all these years. Here are a couple of shots from today and another pair from almost twelwe years ago.

We had some more snow this week. After a couple of dark and wet falls, this year it seems that the winter is coming on normal 'schedule'.

Just bought REAL chromed Lemmerz (EMPI Sprint Star) 4-lug wheels. They need to be restored thought to be perfect. Pictured here with some of my other stuff. I just need a car for these. I think early autostick fuel injected type3 squareback with sunroof would be optimal, but fasty or cool late model bug might be nice too. Or '67 1500 Bug, or late cabrio, or...
